DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development activities:

• Develop efficient and high quality code while meeting product release deadlines.
• Assist leads and SSEs to prepare time estimates for projects and software design plans.
• Write good technical design documentation and technical approach.
•  Develop and execute detailed test plans (unit testing and functional testing).

Production Support & Maintenance activities:

•  Respond quickly to support issues and follow up till resolution
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting and provide quick resolution to production problems
• Follow up and provide timely reporting on issues to management

Qualifications Education: 

A four-year degree in computer science or a related field is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge and Skills

• Development experience in Java/J2EE technologies, MQ, Oracle and XML based technologies on Unix (Linux) platform
• Application of Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques and implementation using Design Patterns.
• Knowledge to create unit level tests using JUnit and experience with Shell scripting
• Experience in extensive use of source control tools such as Team Foundation Server
• Effectively balance and prioritize multiple projects and tasks concurrently
• Ability to interact effectively within and across other teams
• Strong technical acumen and communications skills

Previous Experience
Candidates should possess:

• 3+ years of total IT experience.
•  2+ years of Java/J2EE based development using Design Patterns
• 1+ years working with large relational database such as Oracle including stored procedures
• Good knowledge of XML and related technologies
• Possess excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively when dealing with internal and external customers

Candidates should also possess:

•  An established track record for creating clear and concise technical designs and architectures for small to medium scale problems.
• A history of meeting aggressive deadlines in uncertain environments and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Skills in developing and leading high performing teams that demonstrate excellence in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility and accountability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including both oral and written proficiency

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience in JSF, Frameworks such as Struts or Spring
• Experience in application servers such as WebSphere
